From late September through Thanksgiving, the stretch of Ormond Beach between Granada Boulevard and Rockefeller Gardens turns into something closer to a rolling festival than a small coastal downtown. Six weekend events land inside a nine-week window, and every one of them sits within a fifteen-minute drive of the Plantation Bay gates. If you have lived here a few seasons, the rhythm is familiar. What is different this year is the dining map you land on afterward.
That is the honest thesis of this post: the calendar has not changed much, but the "where do we eat after" answer has. Two of Ormond's most-referenced dining rooms opened or relocated in the last six months, and one long-standing Beach Street favorite is now on A1A. Plan the events the way you always have. Rework the reservation habit.

Add the First Saturday Art Walk on Oct 3, Nov 7, and Dec 5 in the MainStreet Arts District at 128 W. Granada Blvd., plus the Thursday Ormond Beach Farmers Market at David Hood Plaza on Beach Street every week, and you have roughly one anchor outing per weekend from Labor Day through the holidays.
Why This Corridor Does the Heavy Lifting
Two addresses carry most of the fall load, and both are worth understanding as a resident rather than a visitor.
The first is The Casements at 25 Riverside Drive, the restored Rockefeller winter home. It sits at the east foot of the Granada Bridge and hosts the Beer Festival on Oct 10. The adjoining Rockefeller Gardens is where Taste of Ormond runs on Sunday, Oct 18 from 4:00 PM, and Riverfest 2026 lands Saturday, Nov 21 from 10:00 AM. If you are new to the community and looking for the single physical spot on the map that explains why this town has a festival calendar at all, it is this pair of buildings and their lawns.
The second is the MainStreet Arts District along West Granada. On the first Saturday of every month, Frame of Mind, Art Spotlight, The Studio by Artist Angel Lowden, the Ormond Memorial Art Museum, and others host art openings and events. It is an evening walk, not a destination event, and it is the easiest way to introduce out-of-town guests to Ormond without committing to a ticketed festival.
If you have hosted family in November before, you already know the play: park once on the mainland side of the bridge, walk Granada in the late afternoon, then cross the bridge for whatever is set up at Rockefeller Gardens.
The Part That Actually Changed: Where You Eat After
This is where a resident's habits from last fall may lead them somewhere that is no longer there, or cause them to miss something that is.
Little Italy's Ristorante is no longer on Beach Street. After five years in Daytona, owner Mario Recupido has moved the restaurant to 814 S. Atlantic Ave. in Ormond Beach, into the standalone building that Dalmare Italian Chophouse occupied until it closed in 2024, with more than 5,600 square feet of interior space plus a covered patio. For Plantation Bay residents, this is a real change. A post-Riverfest dinner that used to require crossing into Daytona now stays on the Ormond side of the Halifax. The owners have teased a soft opening and menu additions on social media.
Dino's Bar & Grill is the new Recupido concept in Daytona. Same ownership group. Mario Recupido opened Dino's Bar & Grill at 145 Orange Ave., Daytona Beach in February. If you liked Little Italy's for the pizza but wanted a bar-and-grill feel closer to the river, this is that.
Ormond Beach Diner has been operating quietly north of Granada. It sits at 1460 Ocean Shore Blvd., in the space that used to house Sun and Sand Cafe, and the owners are Evgeny Dzyubin and Danielle Armenta. Hours are breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Monday, closed Tuesdays, with dinner added on Fridays and Saturdays. For a Saturday morning before the Beer Festival or the Coastal Cleanup, this is the right kind of low-key.
Beachside, at the ocean, changed hands. Under new owner Dee, live music runs all weekend and food and drinks Wednesday through Sunday, and the downstairs Lounge at Beachside is now open in addition to the upstairs deck.
Four dining changes inside a year, all within the corridor Plantation Bay residents already drive for festivals. That is the practical reason to rewrite your reservation list before Taste of Ormond hits.
A Thursday Habit Worth Keeping
The Ormond Beach Farmers Market runs 8 AM to 1 PM every Thursday, year-round, at 22 South Beach Street at David Hood Plaza in front of city hall, with fresh produce, foodstuff, ingredients, and homemade treats from area vendors. For a fifteen-minute drive from the Plantation Bay gates, it is the single most reliable way to break up a week without committing to a full outing. Pair it with a coffee stop and you are back through the guardhouse by 10:30.
The Thursday market matters more than it looks in a fall calendar because it fills the weekdays between the Saturday tent-poles. You do not need to wait for Riverfest to eat well in November.
Two Tent-Pole Weekends, Ranked Honestly
If you only have two Ormond Beach outings in you this fall, these are the two.
- Taste of Ormond, Sunday Oct 18. A Taste of Ormond features samples from two dozen Ormond Beach restaurants, along with craft breweries, wineries, and live music. It normally runs in early March, so an October date this year is worth flagging on the calendar now. Arrive at 4:00 PM sharp; the best tastes go fast.
- Riverfest Seafood Festival, Saturday Nov 21. Riverfest celebrates Ormond Beach's coastal culinary bounty, staged in mid-November, with local food vendors, live music, and a draft beer garden. If you host family for Thanksgiving, this is the Saturday-before outing that gives out-of-town guests the version of Ormond you actually want them to see.
Between them, the Beer Festival at The Casements on Oct 10 is the mid-corridor bridge. It is smaller and less crowded than the two Rockefeller Gardens events, and easier if you want a two-hour outing rather than a full afternoon.
One Note on the Bridge
The Granada Bridge is the choke point for every event on the beachside. On Taste of Ormond and Riverfest afternoons, plan to be across it by 3:30 PM at the latest, or park on the mainland side and walk. The bridge is short, the walk is pleasant, and it removes the only real logistical friction of the fall calendar for anyone driving in from the west side of I-95.
If you are new to Plantation Bay and this is your first fall in the community, the shortest advice is this: point the car east on SR-40 (Granada), aim for The Casements, and the rest of the calendar sorts itself out.
Planning Your Own Fall
The fall season here rewards residents who plan two weekends out and stay flexible on the third. Between the Rockefeller Gardens corridor, the First Saturday Art Walks, the Thursday market, and a dining map that quietly reshaped itself over the last six months, the version of Ormond Beach you visited last November is not quite the one waiting this year.
